A new service to directly help mid-sized businesses as they expand and grow has been launched by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). There are around 170,000 mid-sized businesses registered in the UK. Those with either a turnover of more than £10m or more than 20 employees, and undergoing significant growth, can now seek expert help from HMRC growth support specialists. Not enough being done to tackle work-related ill health, say business leaders

Almost half of Britain’s industry leaders do not feel enough is being done across industry to tackle cases of work-related ill-health, according to new research from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The number of UK Employment Tribunal claims rose very slightly during the period between April and June this year, according to the latest figures produced by the Ministry of Justice. There were 4,241 single claims received in April to June 2017, up 2 % on the same period of 2016.
